ABOUT
Welcome to Hellenic Garden and our fine range of purpose made water butts, barrels and planters. All our products are hand made for us. Much care goes into each product, which is carefully finished and checked before it begins its journey to your home or business.

Forest Friendly

Many of our products are coopered from beech. The timber we use is selected from carefully managed mountain forests where the trees grow 1700 metres above sea level. Great care is taken to ensure that each autumn the mountain forests of Greece continue to glow in deep oranges and reds before the snow settles in for the long winter ahead.

The beech tree is often referred to as "The mother of the forest" in this part of the world. It is a wonderful soil improver and is often grown to nurse other broad leafed trees in forestry practice.

The trees are felled and pulled (often by horses) out of the forests. They are seasoned and then sawn within the same locality - providing work for families in the area and helping to sustain the local economy.

Our wine barrels are coopered from seasoned oak and chestnut, sourced locally where possible.

Many villages in the area are being deserted due to lack of employment - demand for our products helps to prevent this from happening and ensures that the skill of barrel making is not lost and can be passed on down to future generations.

Fixed with galvanised non-rust bands, our beech can be woodstained in a variety of shades: natural beech wood, Golden Cedar, Deep Mahogany and Antique Pine.

We know these products have been created with great skill and we believe they are really beautiful - our house and garden are full of them!
